Brello RISE

Rise needed to work across TV, web browser, and the Brello mobile app — each with different interaction models and constraints. I led the design of the experience flow that connected these touchpoints, including the TV sign-in and pairing process.

The Challenge

Brello Rise was conceived as a digital wellness studio — an extension of the Brello Health platform that would let users access fitness and nutrition classes on a bigger screen through TV streaming devices (Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV, Google TV), web, and directly within the Brello app.

The defining constraint was timing: the project had a very tight deadline. As lead designer, I needed to produce an initial UI option as fast as possible while simultaneously managing the design system and ensuring the visual language extended Brello’s existing identity — not competed with it.

My Individual Impact

1. Creative Direction & Rapid UI Production

I owned the creative direction for Brello Rise. Under extreme time pressure, I led the team to produce initial UI options quickly — prioritizing speed without sacrificing coherence with the core Brello brand.

Impact: Delivered first viable UI direction within 10 business days, unblocking product and engineering to begin building. This pace was possible because I prioritized high-impact screens and deferred non-critical polish to later iterations.

2. Design System — Rebuilding & Extending

I managed the Figma design system for Rise — but not from scratch. I rebuilt the system while layering it on top of Brello’s existing design system, ensuring Rise felt like a natural extension rather than a separate product.

Impact: Maintained visual consistency across two products while enabling Rise-specific components and patterns.

3. Cross-Platform Experience Design

Rise needed to work across TV (Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV, Google TV), web browser, and the Brello mobile app — each with different interaction models and constraints. I led the design of the experience flow that connected these touchpoints, including the TV sign-in and pairing process.

Impact: Delivered a cohesive multi-platform experience from a single design system foundation.

What I'd Do Differently

The tight timeline forced early compromises in exploration. With more runway, I would have tested multiple TV interaction patterns (remote navigation vs. touch) before committing to the UI direction.
