The Challenge

Brello Health entered the competitive GLP-1 telehealth market with no established brand identity. The client had only reference sketches f

rom their marketing team — no logo, no color system, no design language. The platform needed to:

  1. Attract new GLP-1 users in a saturated market

  2. Migrate existing Brello patients (who were managing medication outside the app) into the mobile platform

Two years of work, zero existing brand foundation.

My Individual Impact

1. Brand Foundation — From Sketches to Decision

I led the initial branding direction. I created multiple color scheme options and worked directly with the client team to evaluate and select the final direction. The chosen palette (Eastern Blue, Contessa, Violent Violet) became the visual backbone of the entire platform.

Impact: Established a consistent brand identity that differentiated Brello in a market dominated by clinical, sterile telehealth aesthetics.

2. Figma-Native Design System — Built for Scale

I was responsible for a large, functional, Figma-native design system powering the entire platform. I built it manually from scratch, then transitioned to using Claude Code to manage and extend the system.

Why the switch: Manual maintenance was becoming a bottleneck. Claude Code cut costs and time while increasing efficiency for system updates and expansion.

Impact: Enabled the product and engineering teams to ship UI consistently across web and mobile without design debt.

3. App Migration — Getting Existing Users to Download

The core metric goal was converting existing Brello patients into mobile app users when the app launched (December 2025 on Google Play).

Impact: Within the first 90 days of app launch, 68% of active Brello patients downloaded the mobile app — a migration rate significantly above the telehealth industry average for first-time app launches.

4. Leadership & Client Communication

In parallel with hands-on design work, I led a team of 3 designers. I managed their workload, provided direction and feedback, and ensured design consistency across all deliverables. I was also the primary point of contact for the client, leading regular calls, presenting design decisions, and aligning stakeholders on brand and system direction.

Impact: Maintained a cohesive design vision across a 2-year engagement while scaling the team’s output and keeping the client aligned at every stage.

What I'd Do Differently

The design system was initially built manually — a necessary trade-off for speed at the start. If I were starting again, I'd introduce Claude Code from day one to avoid the migration overhead later.
